3C-Carbon provides insights in progress in conversion

In the east of the city of Landsberg, there is still a lot of 'conversion work' to be done, while in the south, things are already well underway. Since 2004, 3C-Carbon Group AG has been transforming the site of the former Lechrain barracks into a (high) technology park in a process that continues to be very dynamic. This was confirmed during a joint 'exchange meeting' on site at 3C-Ring 1, attended by Member of the Bundestag Michael Kießling, Member of the Landtag Alex Dorow (both CSU), representatives of 'Penzing Studios' and, on behalf of the city of Landsberg, Mayor Doris Baumgartl, City Architect Annegret Michler and Economic Development Officer André Köhn.

3C CEO Karsten Jerschke personally presented the company to the high-ranking visitors. The Landsberg and Penzing representatives were clearly fascinated by his brief overview of the development history of the 3C site, the ongoing creation of a 'reference-level' infrastructure, and the external hurdles and obstacles that can slow down these processes. 'This is extremely interesting for me. We are experiencing some very similar things,' said Jörn Siegele, managing director of Penzing Studios. What has been achieved so far at the Lechrain Technology Park is therefore 'highly impressive, I'm taking a lot away with me'.

During a tour of the group's premises, the company boss also gave the guests exclusive insights into production. At 3C, whether in carbon production, the subsidiaries in high-end medical technology or the premium motorcycle brand HOREX, this means working consistently with highly qualified and motivated employees on state-of-the-art machines according to the best standards in order to achieve the highest possible level of quality in the end product.
The two MPs were also fascinated by the transformation of the former barracks site into a state-of-the-art industrial location. 'Great,' said Michael Kießling as he looked out over the roofs of the company premises towards the main Alpine ridge, and immediately agreed with Alex Dorow, who said, 'I've never seen anything like this before. A real flagship for Landsberg.'

All visitors were also very impressed by the further ambitious designs presented by the 3C-Carbon Group. Once a valid development plan is in place, these include, among other things, the vision of a prestigious hotel building – something that Landsberg is currently sorely lacking, as all visitors unanimously agreed.
